Genelec connection question

Gonna drop some money on Genelecs tomorrow but need to order suitable cables that will connect between my apogee DUET and the Genelecs.

Any suggestions?

I am buying from Thomann, so any links to suitable cables would be very much appreciated

XLR to TS jack (unbalanced) at the length of your choice (keep them as short as possible) will do...

and welcome to the club of genie freaks... and set them up properly, even they are ace speakers they are still subject to all the rules about room acoustics and proper setup and placement / positioning in general (the genelec website and their forum contains very valuable infos on that)

don't wonder they made a writing mistake they say TRS jack and then in brackets unbalanced, unbalanced is a TS jack... TRS means balanced.

however this is the type of cable you need... just choose the length you need...

I may buy a little bit of acoustic treatment to fit behind the monitors.

NO, no foam... jeez make your homework about setting up monitors properly and especially genelecs... foam is a no go... i mean for placing it underneath them... jeezzz!!!!! RAVE hello!!! (get acoustic foam for your room if you need)

just take them as they are and place them on stands as stable and rock hard as you can.

buying genelecs and putting foam underneath or to place them on any non rock hard, non wobbly surface is a killer. then you can trow them also straight away and keep your crap you have now.

never noticed any run in, every single pair runs 16hours continuously under full blast (maximum volume they can manage) with pink noise... at the factory.

that does it, the quality insurance of genelec is bar none. it is an investment for lifetime.

and go to the website about setting up 'know how' don't fuck it up, with some false info you read on forums like this one here...

foam under genelec speakers... grrr. (and don't tell me because the industry makes and sells it it is right!, they make and sell whatever shit stoopid people will buy, unless it is hard foam that is like a rock, that can be OK, depending on the speaker type, but nothing soft, that gives way)

yes but personally i dont trust my self on soldering so much i may blow something !

the last time i made a neutrik + belden combination and everything went ok (i think).

But after that i had some evil thoughts about "what if i didnt make it 100% right?"
So i didnt trust my self and went for the manufactured neutrik + cordial!
(and i have 24m top quality beldens sitting in the drawer)
