Markers

Post by tunetracker » Wed Apr 13, 2005 11:13 pm

I'm quite new to live and mainly use the arrangement view at the moment to sequence. Can anyone tell me Is it possible to place markers? I'm trying to lay the track out ie, intro, bridge, breakdown etc. Is it possible to do this with live like it is on other sequencers? Thanks.

There are no traditional marker features in Live at the moment. But you can easily make your own by using Clips and their names creatively.

Usually I will use a track and insert blank Clips for marker points, like so...

Insert a blank Clip where you need a marker. Down in Clip View there is a text field for entering Clip names, as well as color etc. You can type quite a bit of text in there. Just make another copy of your blank Clip and name it whatever you need to as you go. You can stretch them across entire sections and they can be very useful if you have a lot going on. There is still no way to jump around between them but it's atleast a way for the eyes to spot color and text info quickly. Hope that helps.
