Been on 8.1.3 since it's release and so far everything has been great.

I have experienced one strange bug. I have been using the Ms Pinky M4L patch and another M4L device, Bento's EQ3. When I have those open in my device view and I scroll left and right using 2 fingers on my Mac Book Pros mouse pad, Live will crash.

It happens every time. I sent in a bug report, but other than that things seem to be working as expected.

So far so good with 8.1.3

Had a pretty hectic arranging/mixing session yesterday afternoon/evening and pleased to report I've had no issues.

I had so many troubles with 8 all the way till now.

I was recommended by support to download and use 8.1.3 b2
on my mac pro 1,1 snow leopard. Finally a version that works great!

I used to have high CPU usage on 8.1.1 on a live project with only
2 vsti's running. Live would crash over anything. Example, I move a bass track
over to the left in session view to be near the piano track, CRASH.
Oh i'd like to automate this, let me go from Pencil tool to Arrow to make some dots...
Click a few dots, Crash. Let me drag this sample over to this simpler pad, CRASH.

After a quick chat with support they recommended 8.1.3 b2 (I have not tried regular 8.1.3).
I was cynical about "download the new beta bro" email, but... WOW...... finally I can stack up
many tracks, with many synths, many effects, with all sorts of automation, (current track im
working on has 26 tracks and cpu usage is between 7%–10%!)

I cant believe I am so excited over something that SHOULD HAVE BEEN like this since day 1.
Whatever though, I am not mat at you, great job and thanks for the help, i can go back on making music.....

PS: is 8.1.3 b2 newer than 8.1.3? What is the deal?

8.1.3b2 was the beta version at the time (it was a few beta versions ago actually).

8.1.3 is the newest release which you should have. I don't know how you woulud even still be on b2 as it had a time-limit (are you still on it?)

I used 8.1.3 all Sat night and all day Sunday, mostly doing m4L stuff. this release definitely feels a lot smoother and lighter on my system.

works fine in 8.1.1.

Well, I managed to figure this out. (sorry wasn't hugely descriptive above).

It was down to Reaktor. For some reason it needs to have DEP enabled in order for it to work, because 8.1.3 is a new executable, rather than an updated one, I needed to add this to the list in DEP. Big thread on NI forums if youre having a similar problem with reaktor 5.15 crashing.

So i set 8.1.3 to use DEP as well as 8.1.1 and worked fine.

Was very stable for around 3 hours.

Still having LOTS of crashes with 8.1.3. Crashes with just opening sets, deleting devices, inserting devices, working with video, ... even on sets with nothing in them.
It's strange because you all seem to have a stable version and I'm sure I do nothing wrong or anything that is really complex (like M4L stuff).
Oh yeah, I should also mention that it only crashes when I do stuff like inserting/deleting devices/tracks, ... NOT when I'm just doing a session where everything is already on it's place.

Working on
MBP, 2.66-GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
4GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM
Serial ATA-disk 320 GB (7200 rpm
OSX 10.6.3 Snow Leopard
Macbook is ONLY used for music production - not for surfing, watching vids, pics, playing games, .....
Maschine 1.5
Launchpad
SL49 MK2 with Automap 3.4.1
Live 8.1.3 Suite

Already sent a few bug reports.

I have an interesting one, more irritating than a show stopper. Everytime I close Live(8.1.3) I get a little windows message saying Live is not working properly. Well hey ho big surprise as I just closed it :-) However it seems as though even though I have closed it the process is still running. Has anyone else experienced this. I'm using Vista BTW. I'm pretty sure it's a windows thing and nothing to do with Live as in all other aspects it's working absolutely fine.
Any suggestions apart from not closing it.

Hi folks,

Apparently, the Sylenth crash is fixed in the latest version:

We would be interested in hearing from users who've had this problem whether or not this is true.

Thanks,
