looking for recording / editing software

I used to work with Protools free on Mac Os 9, which was excellent for my needs. Editing interviews and sounds for radio programmes, as well as short samples for Ableton.

As I moved to Mac Os X now, I'm looking for something similar. I tried Audacity, but I don't feel very comfortable with the way the editing of samples works. Anyone any suggestions? It doesn't have to be free, but on the other I'm not very rich at the moment.

Try N-track Studio. Its very low cost, does VST and Rewire hosting etc
