I'd say bomes, cause python scripting requires knowing how to do it, bomes is more self explainitorycigbunt wrote:which is the easiest??

If you were trying to convert program change messages from a MIDI buddy into any other MIDI messages I could help you out... by telling you to throw the MIDI buddy in the trash, cigbunt wrote:thanks thats the answer i was looking for...

Key commands triggered by MIDI messages shouldn't be that hard..
Speaking of! I use a program called midiStroke on OS X that will take our MIDI notes on a Roland SPD-s and convert them to key strokes, that might be the ticket!

You may want to check this out:

For me, the $20 was well worth it given my knowledge of Bomes and it will give you additional functionality beyond navigation

If you have the nanoKontrol, you need to get the Myralfur script (free), period. It's the only reason I got the nanoKontrol and it's pretty amazing. You get stuff like track and device navigation, device on/off...etc. in addition to the arm/trigger/solo/pan all instantly mapped, up to 24-32 tracks as well as macros.
As for mapping a midi button to keystrokes, the easiest ways I know of are:
midistroke (free. mac only)
QuicKeys (midi to keystroke or any menu item that don't even have a keyboard shortcut; Mac or Windows but I'm not sure if the Windows version has this new midi feature yet)
