Hi,all. Hope someone is still following this thread. This does sound like stuff I want to do too. It would be great to get all our songs in one set if possible, but another question I have, which may mess everything up, is: I am thinking of using In-Time to make Live follow the band (since my current drummer is incapable of following a clicktrack) and planned to use the Arrangement rather than the Session, and I have some effects automated in the recording but can't figure out how to apply it when playing live. Example, I have heavy reverb/delay at the beginning of the verse but then it gets lighter before the chorus. So when I sing live, I want this automated effect. Any ideas how to do that? tx

Why is your drummer incapable of following a click-track???

Because he has trained himself to follow the guitar player, who also can't follow a click track.

dummy question : how do you incorpore tempo change in scene? I am not getting that point

what I do with the band is : one als per song in the arrangement window

the click goes on a separate output (we dont use the click from live but do a midi clip to be able to change the sound of the click as we want and change it 1 click per beat or 2 clicks per beat depending on the song)

would love to try the all songs in one file but seems a bit complicated to manage this (tempo, number of columns ...)

can you also explain more about the IAC driver of mac ? what should modify exactly to make ports internal?

thanks

I can only answer one part of this. You can Insert Time Signature Changes in the Arrangement view (up at the top where the numbers are, click Create) but to change in Session, I'm not sure. You can make a new clip a different time signature but I don't know if that affects the overall time; haven't tried.

You can input BPM and Time Signature into a scene, that when launched, changes Ableton's time:

For example, have a scene named 120 BPM 3/3 to instantly change to 3/3 timing at 120 bpm when that scene is launched.

I haven't used this technique, personally, but it seems pretty handy.

Hi,

I'm also doing a similar thing with my band's set up and at the moment I am launching scenes at different points in the songs. One of our songs changes tempo and I have solved this by launching a scene named the bpm to do this.

50% of the time we can play through the track and everything seems fine. I have found that sometimes when launching a new clip or scene the clip will play AND flash and then after a couple of beats it stops flashing and plays from the beginning again.

I'm sure this is a dummy mistake that can easily be changed but for the life of me I can't work out how.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I think this has to do with the Global Launch settings at the top of the screen. If it say "1 bar" or "2 bars" (something) then it will flash and start at the next bar (or 2) start. I set mine to none or zero (sorry I'm not looking at it right now).
