I was just about to email Hugo and request Sampler versions of his future releases....I've been importing the EXS versions but having his presets in Sampler would be too great.

That Sonic couture stuff is great, I'm a big fan of their stuff.
I'll personally be sticking with the other formats though (Kontakt/EXS24) so that they can be used outside or inside of Live.

I am curious if the Sonarte sound object library is the same as included in the suite or if it's the full one.

And for those of you upset that they aren't offered as Live 7 formats, they've giving a really nice 65 dollars off the upgrade to Live 8 when you buy one of these Sonic couture packs for Live. The other option is of course just buy them in another format and use them in whatever DAW/version of Live you want.

They sound amazing. But the thing that gets to me is why do us Americans have to pay $10 more for the packs than the Europeans do? What is with that? It's just information coming down a copper wire, so why do we have to pay extra for it? I think it's bullshit that the Ableton company is citing favoritism for it's European counterparts.

I don't care if it's still only $49. That's still $10 more than I should have to pay. And not forgetting the Sonic Coture stuff which is $20 more for Americans. WTF

Count me out until the prices change for us Americans.

I'm not too miffed about the lack of live7 availability. Offering a $65 discount on a live8 upgrade with the sonic couture stuff is a pretty blunt indication of the modus operandi.

a $99 product = 77.92 euros. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 79 euros

a $49 product = 38.57 euros. THEY WANT TO CHARGE ME 39 euros

your getting it cheaper than we in europe are.

that is based purely on the money market exchange rates.

one you factor in currency exchange/transfer fees etc etc, ableton are making even less by letting americans buy with your dollars.

so realy its rather nice of them to be subsidising you like that.

The prices on Soniccouture's stuff is the same as on their website, and I'm a big fan of the Konkrete series (which I own both of already). Glad to see they made it into Drum Racks from the Instrument Racks they were previously.

Toontrack's Bully sound demo did not inspire me to want to purchase. Metal my ass I was hoping to get something that at least sounded like Drumkit From Hell after reading it's description, and that it had 8 kits. But it seems more rock/hip-hop oriented.

Toontrack's site had no information at all, that I could find easily at least.

I know Konkrete 1/2 use Instrument Racks and Simpler, as do most of PureMagnetik's packs. I tihnk it's safe to say that unless a company specifies a pack is for, or uses, a certain Live instrument, that it's sample-based and works with Simpler.

now about Apple's. I don't see why they should cost you guys more. Since they are all made in Taiwan and China. And probably in the same factory as the Dells and HP's too.

All packs work with Live 8.1.3 and Live Intro, no add-on instruments are required for any of the partner instruments.

Pasha is right, some sounds are powered by Suite instruments like Corpus or Operator to create layered sample/synth sounds. In this case, a Live user can play the sound and tweak it via the 8 Macros, but the inner devices such as Operator won't be visible.

Exchange rates can indeed be a fucker. I preordered an OpenPandora, and when they had a bank issue and had to refund everyone and have us order again, the exchange rate had changed and I got back $60 US less than what I had paid. And to top it off I couldn't pay with their new way (and had lost some trust so wasn't willing to use other methods) so i wasn't going to preorder again and use the current exchange rate. But they had refunded me in Euros or whatever the same amount they had gotten from me with the previous exchange rate

Just be glad we don't have to deal with VAT.
