can you use the xox sequencer to record straight into live/logic and have it play back from the recorded region? That would be one way to get the xox feature, and use groove templates as well.

Do you want to record midi or audio?

Midi can't be recorded (yet), but you can drag and drop midi patterns created using the xox sequencer which you could then apply a groove template to. This can be used to then retrigger the sounds in maschine.

Audio can also be recorded (on up to 8 different stereo outputs) and then have a groove template applied.
MBP 2.4, Live 7, Logic 8, Maschine, Audio 2 DJ, Sennheiser HD 25 1 II, M-Audio Fasttrack Pro, Komplete 6, Novation Nocturn, Alesis Micron, Jap Fender Jaguar, lots of guitar pedals...

Had a few hours with Maschine yesterday - so far i am loving it :)

I was pleasantly surprised how fast i got with it after a short while.

Also, i totally love the build quality and the feel of the pads - really really nice...

looking forward to dive deeper into Maschine and as stated many times before, the integration in Live makes this product pure win 8)

great job from the NI guys !

well this is where my love for maschine is, i am not into any of that nerd shit, i just love music and with maschine opposed to ableton live (not talking about integration, just standalone) i just can headache free create, without all that technical nonsense attached, i just hope it stays this way and that nerd fuckers don't place more and more requests and making it more and more complex... and fuck it up just like ableton did, the beauty of it for me is in the utter simplicity, get away from that technical shit and just hammer out wicked & sexy beats, for gods sake!!! it's about music and not a technical wank fest!

agreed 100% for the will that maschine stays simple and bugfree, not following the ableton 8 route.... (that's why I request some separate "update packs", allowing to choose what we need and let the rest go)

But for the "nerd part" of our discussion, I think that some updates of maschine could avoid struggling for complete integration within live..

and also that some (perhap's little) features still need to be implemented in maschine to improve its "easyness", even for standalone use (CCs and PCs for sequencing external synths, multiple standalone instances, improved sequencer...)

anyway I agree with you with the fact that maschine is already quite a complete great tool,

but I disagree with your opinion about "nerd shit", because that "shit" can greatly improve workflow ease and composition process, once you got it done...

I'm both a composer AND an "audio nerd", both parts supporting each other, and I always have alternating phases of composition and "nerd shit" ...

YOU don't like struggling with stuff like virtual midi routers, complex multi-software / hardware integration, etc., but that doesn't mean it's only shit, does it??

cheers

agreed 100% some improvements i like to see as well... i am just 'scared' they do the same mistakes ableton did, following 'nerds' rather then following musicians and simple users, that just want to work with a tool instead of digging there head into the tool itself.

i just love the easiness and consequent simplicity of maschine... get's much more creative work done this way.

i don't know yet one single user or heard of one that has been not utterly satisfied or even overwhelmed by maschine...

i am pretty confident you are not going to be the first changing that.
