Opinions on faster firewire mobile interface

hello
probably this topic is more than covered but I need some help with that.
I use a macbook 2ghz, 1gb RAM, Live 8
I need a faster Firewire interface, cause I need to proccess my signal in realtime for gigin´
and What I´m using now (M-AUDIO 410) brings an unnatural and unacceptable latency, (more that 10 ms)
As I ´ve heard, the interfaces that uses the coreaudio directly are a lot faster than M-AUDIO´S,
but I would like to hear your oppinion and experiences with your interfaces to take a better choice cause I really need a new one ASAP.
