Questions regarding "slice to midi" function....

Post by antidoteaudio » Sat May 08, 2010 12:41 am

Let's say I drop an mp3 into my project that is set to 117bpm. Ableton will automatically warp the audio file to 117 which is great!

BUT when I slice this file to a midi track it reverts to the original tempo of the audio file. Is there any way around this??

Export the warped track, import at new tempo, then slice to midi?

you could slice to a regular interval and use lfo modulated time stretching in sampler

I've already asked this in another thread.... but how do you keep the warp markers from the original audio when using this method? Keeping them would be ideal because then you can use the warp markers option when slicing to midi to keep the samples cut in the right places.

Good question. As it stands, slicing is not a tool that is practical to be used live.
