djgroovy wrote:^ definitely try to get some absorption and diffusion panels in that room, it will improve your sound very much. Don't forget the ceiling too.
+1

with clapping and very carefully listening (form your listening position) you can pretty much determine where the refelections take place, e.g. which wall(s) or if it is in the ceiling...

i hope skeet will post some new pics soon, i just helped him a little bit setting up his room acoustics (he had terrible amounts of reverb in it) and i gave him a good DIY tip for ceiling treatment, even with lights built in. looks very good and does the job fine without robbing the bank.

and niiiccceee clean & tidy setup, like it very much.

the MoogerFoogers are (left to right) Delay 104z, Phaser, Murf
The Tl-audio is the 5021 - dual channel tube compressor (nice for analog drum-machines and synths)
The MFB-503 is a lovely little machine.... midi-wise what I do is to program the patterns in the MFB's own sequencer, so it just receives clock and start/stop messages from the monomachine.... works like a charm :D
Shit man, the delay is well expensive ! Is it worth it?
I like the look of the MIDI murf, but it seems to be a bit of a niche effect.

yeah, MFB stuff sounds great, I've got some samples of the 503 hanging about somewhere, they're very fat :D

I take it you're happy with the TLA compressor then? I've heard the tubes they use in them are a bit cheapo-sounding.
Some stuff, and some other stuff. Honest.

@ ED

Tubes aren't too good... but easy and fairly cheap to change! (haven't done it yet)
The delay is AWESOME..... and it should be with that pricetag :D I have the loop out going to the phaser and then returning on the loop in.... in practice this means that all the generated delays go through the phaser.... so thats a pretty lively combo :D

The MURF (mine is not midi) is fantastic for bringing life into dull stuff.... I have it on an AUX send so that I can send anything to it, and it returns on a stereo channel, so I can just spice things up with it lightly :D

Nice :D

The thing that worries me about the delay is the apparent lack of midi automation. For that kind of price I want to be able to fuck with the settings without having to rely on my clumsy hands :D

ED - I hear you with the lack of MIDI....... but I myself am a DUBHEAD i tweak everything in realtime.... tape-echoes, bucket brigade delays and whatnot.... suits my style perfectly :D
