Mapping a sample into a scale of notes?

Post by pina » Sun May 09, 2010 6:56 am

How do you take a sample, say a single bass note you sampled from an old record, and map it out across your keyboard as though it were a synth patch? Do you have to own Ableton's Sampler for this, or can you do it with the stock stuff that the program comes with? I'm buying a decent midi controller soon, an Axiom 49, and would really like to explore the possibilities of doing this kind of thing. Keep in mind I'm a beginner to this kind of thing, so if you could, please go step by step for me. Thank you!

All good. Ableton can be like that sometimes.
