SLICE TO NEW FOLLOW ACTION!!!

wow cant believe this took me till just now to think of... how about in a similar vein as the slice to new midi track, an option to slice a track into smaller clips on a new track with a follow action set up automatically based on clip length...

let me explain for noobs...
lots of people now use "mlr style" sample cutting in ableton with follow actions on all sorts of different types of controllers, the priciple being that a clip will loop its length, say, 2 measures, but be split up into 16 individual pieces of equal length, each with a follow action of 1/8th note set to play the next clip and the clips arranged in a stack so that they play as a group.... with the clips assigned to buttons on a midi controller in order, (i.e. a monome, livid ohm64, even just 16 keys in order on an ordinary midi keyboard) and the quantization set to the length of the clips (2 measures divided by 16 clips = 8 clips per measure or 8th notes, logically) you can then play back and remix the loop in real time, sort of a chop on the fly feel. for extra comfort, i like to assign the first clip in the sequence to have a quantization of 1 bar and all the others to be 1/16th so that most clips can be "drummed on" really fast and the downbeat clip if you will can be pressed at the end of any little "drum fill" you have tapped out, and will cause the loop to drop back perfectly in time on the next downbeat...

anyway, explanation aside, setting the cue points for 16 clips every time you want to do this - or more potentially depending on how big a clip you are cutting it up and how small ur slices are - takes a long ass time so a feature that could slice a clip into a given number of slices and then know how long those slices are and set the follow actions to the appropriate length would be so phatty!

OR how about follow actions between channels, so you can launch the acapella right on beat a and get to that point of the mix whenever without having to get near the arrangement view, then you could do madness with your follow actions set to random.
