Hello ST8,

I hate to nitpick considering you have put out a game-changing app for free, but I still have the issue where I can launch scenes past the first four. I f I scroll down and t scenes 5-9, and hit any of the scene buttons, it launches the first four. You mentioned you may have a fix?

Thanks again!

You need to grab the latest installer and upgrade (just install again, it'll overwrite the existing files):

I watched a video with someone using an iPad to control Live, & the knobs on the iPod had to catch up with the knobs in Live -you could clearly see the takeover message at the bottom of the Live window, as well as see the control on the iPod moving, while the control in Live did not as it waited for the iPod to match it.

So, does this get feedback from Live so that it will automatically match the controls on the iPod with the positions of the controls in Live? Or do I have to move each control on the iPod to match the controls in Live via takeover mode?

Does it operate with relative midi control, or is it absolute?

For example: I open a session that has lots of controls in various positions: will the iPod automatically match these positions with its controls?
There is no midi, this is all over osc. All of the controls will automatically update and match with Lives settings, there no takeover, they just update (the script reads the status of the liveset)
Wunderbar! That clinches it, a single iPad will replace a number of my midi controllers & be customizable for my weirdo way of working.

I guess the video I saw was using some other method/app.

Ahh ok, thats just midi mapping, probably using osculator or something. This is hooked directly into the liveapi using midi remote scripts.

Problem is you need a decent response time for that, the midi remote scripts arnt time accurate, youd need to do the drum pads over midi or something along side livecontrol. Not worked out a good solution for that yet.

Got it. Thanks again.

So if I want to design my own interface (which I will have to do eventually due to how I work: using 12 aux sends, 8 of which are busses for multi-speaker surround), then I'll have to get better at editing the midi remote scripts -is this accurate?

I just bought Touch OSC just for this configuration, just wanted to say thanks and report some bugs!

1 - I get the Red Box but it doesn't rename the clips or show which clips are empty or occupied...?

2 - The sequencer doesn't record any midi notes into an armed midi track...?

I tried opening a Live set that I use for my Live PA set, for some reason, nothing was detected, LIVE Control TO was already selected in the control surfaces.

Now, if I open up a NEW set, it'll work just fine, the box appears but problems 1 and 2 still exist.

I'm on OSX, Live 8.1.3, using an iPhone 3GS with a Macbook Pro on Leopard.

Possible diagnosis on my end: Is it because Live Control doesn't see my Automatic Configuration in the program?

Your local and remote ip addresses are the same, that is going to cause you no end of problems. You can get the ip address of your iphone manually. In TouchOSC goto network, at the bottom it says "local ip address", this you need to put in the remote field in the LiveControl.app and then save your configuration. Then try relaunching Live

thanks - that DOES clears up the clip renaming and a few other things but the sequencer still doesn't record notes.. is that normal?

This looks great and I'm going to donate once I get it going! I've got the layout in the touch app on my Iphone and have installed the program into Ableton, but I'm having problems on the configure screen.

Nothing is showing up in the Bonjour services... Clicking on get IP for local computer brings up 10.0.0.3 and in Touch OSC network the local IP is 10.0.0.2

I'm no networking wizard, but these numbers look wrong. Clue me in? thanks

those ip addresses sound find 10.x.x.x is another common local network range, should be good to go :)

On windows you need to install bonjour print services if you dont have itunes installed to get bonjour working.

Not sure whats wrong on osx, a number of people are reporting that their ipods dont show up. i need to look into this properly
