Automate devices in send?

Post by Zik Zak » Mon May 10, 2010 7:16 pm

Hi
When I try to automate a device on a send nothing happens. I'm rather sure I was able to do that before, or was I just dreaming? 8O
Can someone verify how it is?
If that future does not exist then I sure think it should be added, as it is with automating on the master channel!

you should be able to do this no problem -

working in the arrangement

- there should be automation available to you in the tracks - so if you have a reverb on return A, the option in the track mixer will be in the drop down menus "mixer - A reverb" and this will bring up your automation envelope

- it is also possible to automate the return envelope in the audio/midi clip itself

- in the return channel you should be able to click on a reverb parameter and the automation envelope will appear in the return track

Hi There, its also possible just to send the Audio ouput of your Return tracks back into another audio track labelled RETURN Automation. Now you can use Dummy clips on those Fake return tracks instead of static automation (better for live use) and you can still SEND any amount of tracks sound to this Dummy return track. Its a different solution to the same problem.
Good luck

Thanks both, but the problem was that the little "R" in the corner of live's arrangement view was not ticked.. uh

Thanks though :)
