Just curious,

Never seen live played "live" and would love to hear some great sets.

Ray Manzarek was once asked about still living in southern california. he replied, "i think about leaving now and then. but the women and the mexican food always keeps me right here."

p.s. - it's north SD county so maybe out of the way, but there are several taco stands along PCH in Leucadia/Encinitas that are to die for.

I'd have to agree with the women and the mexican food statement, but I left southern Cali because of the rent. $2k/mo for a 2 bedroom pos? How about... nooo. I wish Frisco wasn't so expensive either. Love it, but not broke ass musician friendly. Portland, on the other hand...

For Live performances in SD, check out this crew:

I think some of those guys still use Live/Reaktor for most of their stuff. You can also check them out in the Seattle area as well.

you should set up a Live User Group like we did in Indy.
monthly meetings seem to be the best for getting everyone together.
find a coffeeshop with a side room or maybe use a library with a conference room. and score a projector. I'd like to see more User Groups pop up in various cities around the world... maybe 1 day we can do an UBER iSight/iChat video conference. Indy, San Diego, NYC, London .... all collaborating.

Adam Jay, are you playing somewhere on campus? I teach at UCSD part time.
I live in Oceanside and would be interested in some sort of user group.

Drush, sounds like you've been hanging out at Juanita's! My husband and I own a little gallery/bookstore on Coast Hwy. in Encinitas next door to Lou's Records (the best record store in S.D. county) Our shop is called Ducky Waddle's Emporium. Stop by and say hi if you're in town!

p.s. please excuse my wacky posting techniques, they need help :?
