underground house/tech internet radio anyone??KIWIs???
underground house/tech internet radio anyone??KIWIs???
Since coming bac to OZ I've been noticing that my usual evening net radio sessions have been disrupted - in the evenings Oz stations seem to be still in commercial mode, the UK is just waking up, US (proton) seems to be quite mellow - so I guess it's early morning (I know NY is 5 hours behind UK) so that makes me think the place where it's the right time of day is good ole NZ!
So can any of you Kiwis out theere give me any good points for net radio, or can anyone else give some good suggestions for other stations?

I actually logged into their ftp server as guest and grabbed everything at once, some is a little too mellow, but most is really good

It's not radio but check out the arcives section at Paxahau.
Although they do have a radio station I strongly suggest checking out the arcvives. Streaming Real Audio Dj and Live PA sets from the likes of Magda, Sammy Dee, Hawtin, Speedy J, Adam J(ay)
, Chuck Flask, Deadbeat, Monolake, Christian Smith, Marco Corrola, Heather Hart, Akufen, Michael Mayer, my latest favorite set from Seth Troxler and the list really does go on and on and on and on.
Th archives date from November of 1999 to present, are regularly updated with new sets and encompass all styles of Techno, House, Ambient, and Experimental dance music. All of the artists are cutting edge and are playing or making the dopest shit.
Highly reccomended. I listen to it everyday at work and never get sick of it.

Some of the Artists there, like Mateo, Eloi and Pheek are also part of the Epsilon Lab collective.smart1123 wrote:not radio but a netlabel (free original 192 mp3's)

Check it out. Same type of deal as thinnerism.
I especially dig Pheek's stuff but all the artists are pretty talented.

actually, I started listening to alot of net radio while on a dialup of that speed - you might actually be surprised at what you can get from 24k - alot of them have obviously put alot into getting the best lo-fi sound they can - obviously it's nowhere near as good as broadband but you can get alot from listening to all those stations - kind of like the dodgy bootleg casettes you got back in the old days!Moonburnt wrote:Oh well, plenty of answers there for you from further afield - there *may* also be house & techno streams from nz, but i haven't got my finger on the pulse cos my connection is usually a whopping 40.2kbps (whoah! not just 40k but 40.2), thus a lot of the net is off limits for me.
I'm always tuned into DEEP MIX MOSCOW RADIO!

thanks - just checking it out, sounds cooltylast wrote:I'm always tuned into DEEP MIX MOSCOW RADIO!
