I have not had time to get to guitar center or sam ashe and could not find anything via google or Ni website.

Thanks guys if the pads are solid like the korg I will snag one within the week.

Solid job from old NI

Hey Mate!
If you'd take the plunge and look at on of the first pages of this thread lovedose, there's plenty of information about the pads!
And as Subfunk described several times, these both pads compared, it's almost 97% the same feeling... am I right Axel!?
I tried them, liked them and wanna buy them... 8)
If it's just the triggering the Korg should fit your needs, BUT...:
if you like having a perfect match Beatworkstation and got the cash and start reading into this thread.....GET THE MASCHINE!
correct,
they are feeling and reacting basically identical :D , i wrote a few pages earlier, as i am an PadK owner as well, about a setup that lets me use both within maschine and i have very similar feeling playing either the PadK pads or the maschine pads... very, very nice, yep they did a very good job hardware wise... my unit traveled already a bit and it feels very sturdy altogether... (i like the tension of the knobs as well) and super light! my only complaint, but there are a lot of requests for it already, is that they did not made a dedicated bag like for the X1 yet for travellers.

p.s. i managed a setup where i choose the sound of a pad via the maschine pads, but then instead of the need to switch to 'keyboard scale mode' i can instantly play the scale via the PadK, of the sound i selected via the banks / pads in maschine, so any PadK owners, you should not sell your PadK to hasty... check if you also find some good combination use first.

:| <-- seriously
thanks! :D ,

but honestly even i started this thread, i don't believe i 'talked' anyone into it, it is the quality and satisfaction of the product that sells it. anyone i know who tried, bought, i don't think i have that much to do with it... oh well maybe i just made a lot of people trying it

I'm interested in that trick mate, how did you set that up?? I don't understand how the padK pads could always stay linked to the sound in focus in maschine???
Do all your maschine sounds/pads receive the same midi notes? but if so, all your maschine sounds should play when playing the PK, whatever sound/pad is in focus???
:?

I'm not sure I'd really need this setup, but, hey, I'm a kinda musical nerd, so I NEED TO UNDERSTAND

^^^ i will do, but you need to wait until next week, i am on a movie (documentary) production doing sound right now... and just iPhone cruising... i don't have it 100% in my head, but itis easy, i recall.
and very handy if you already own a second padcontroller.

maschine is crap, cheap controller, buggy software with too many limitations, ugly GUI and colors (orange and blue... what the hell were they thinking about???), crappy sound library, and useless updates...

and WTF??? 600$ !!!!!!

It's pretty straight forward. By default the selected pad in maschine can be played chromatically by whatever keyboard controller is being sent to the maschine track. So this included a pad controller. I've your Maschine track is record enabled and you have a keyboard or pad controller, then Maschine's selected pad will respond to it.

Just another awesomeness of Maschine. You can play all pads on maschine, but then at any time play a single pad chromatically with a different controller.

It's just silly how well set up this thing is.

It's also funny to me now to think back to when I first watched the videos and read the descriptions when it was announced at NAMM last year. I was like "That looks kinda cool, but nothing I need". Man did that ever change.

Controller is not cheap. I was banging on it so hard last night for an hour straight that I hurt my arm and needed to rest. It's a tough one.

Not buggy over here. Software has been super stable ever since I started using it, and I go crazy with automation and effects and resampling..

How is it limiting? I'm selling my MPC with JJ OS now because that seems soooo limited compared to Maschine. Maschine isn't a DAW, it's a beat MANGLER. And it mangles very well.

Who cares about the GUI. You don't even look at it. You look at the controller... And it's not ugly.

About the sound library, if you rely on that to make beats you aren't going anywhere. Get your own sounds.

The last update ruled.

You can get it less than $600. I got it for $450.

And yeah, we're all MAD.

We, the enthusiasm-vampires of New Zealand appreciate this thread! :P

Funny thing, since I went to NI's website and checked out a few movies and stuff, banner ads for Maschine have been following me all over the internet! NI must have some KING HELL adware... out of all the major sites I've visited for years, 70% of them have Maschine ads!!!!! They must know how close I am to pulling the trigger and making a buying decision - bastards! - I feel persecuted like Tom Cruise in Minority Report.
