Hi guys.
Maybe a noob question I dunno, but I have just installed 8.1.3 and I have been working on a project that today started coming unstable.
Unfortunately I failed in the first rule of "save regularly" and I lost my work due to the work closing down.
Upon re-opening Live I got the regular re-open previous session prompt which had captured the project close to where I had left it.
Unfortunately that session shut down too. After 3 attempts I decided I'd do a clean boot but I forgot to make a fresh save of the work.
Obviously once the OS(Win 7 64) started and I reloaded Live, I did not get the prompt to open the previous session and I was left staring at a session that was missing all my additions and ammendments.
I thought I may be able to find Abletons last autosave file in the various folders but I was unable to find any.
So my question is, how does Live retain all the additions to autosaves and is the last one accessible somehow?.
I have not sent a bug report yet, I am more interested (or concerned) about the possibility of reloading the autosave.
Hopefully this isnt a face palm moment..
Can you open a project from a last autosave?
Re: Can you open a project from a last autosave?
Thanks ShelLuser, that has certainly enlightened me on how it works.
I will have a go at the file tonight after work and see what happens!
Thanks again

Re: Can you open a project from a last autosave?
there is (or at least used to be) an undo.cfg file somewhere (not sure where on Windows any more) but I think it's unlikely you could do anything with it
I seem to have a hazy, vague distant memory of once upon a time being able to open them in an early version of Live - but seriously I could be totally making that up as I certainly haven't tried it probably within at least the last 5 years!!
Sorry that's not much help... but it just felt like something I remember doing in the ancient past - you could always try I guess
but the general rule is, it should ask you to reopen your last saved set and if it keeps crashing then it will go back to older undo points where it was more stable until it works
I know it's not much help, but if you are getting a lot of crashes try saving as a new revision each time you make a significant change
are you using external VST or AU plugins? that seems to be the worst crash cause
