Has the Ableton forum been hacked by a spammer?

Post by Protege » Mon Apr 18, 2005 2:07 am

Has a hacker / spammer got into Live's support database of email addresses? I received 2 copies of the included email this morning... (I blocked out my own email address in the headers just in case.....)

there is no reverse DNS entry for the X-AntiAbuse: User IP - 61.19.223.131, but it is supposedly from Thailand but must be spoofed, so could be from anywhere...

I was going send this to [email protected], but I'm sure they only need one copy, not potentially thousands if everyone does the same as me. Sorry if this is already on the forum, but searching the forums doesn't work at the moment.

Cheers
Scott

We want you to know about the false Armenian allegations that last since the down of 20th century.
Having read these materials you will be able to make conclusion regarding Armenian “genocide”.

1) The generally accepted version of the history of the Anatolian Armenians from 1912 to 1922 has been
little questioned. In fact, the story of the Anatolian Armenians is one of the few bits of Middle
Eastern history that is widely "known" in Europe and America. Brought up on stories of starving Armenians,
Westerners have taken as given that the Armenians were driven from Armenia -a land in which Armenians
were the chief inhabitants- and accepted without proof that Armenians were slaughtered by Turks who,
while not suffering themselves, got away with their crimes. Perhaps because so many people have
previously accepted this story, few today have questioned its validity

the mail continues for a further 13 chapters about the plight of the Armenians........

I got the same message. I figure either a moderator with the ability to mass mail got in a "I will enlighten you all" mood, or someone did in fact hack the administrative functions of phpBB...

I got the same e-mail as well. Distrubing how information like our e-mail adresses was so easily obtained. Hopefully other info like our credit card numbers weren't misused as well.
