i've seen some with this problem but none with a solution, when switching pages (session, mixer ,volume, sends, etc.) it takes from 2 to 6 seconds to load it and if i switch them too fast ableton lags producing momentary visual freeze and audio glitches. this makes the live performance a pain.
this happens on my laptop, on my desktop, with the same version of live (8.1.1) it doesnt happen.
on my laptop i've tried win7 home premium 64, win7 ultimate 32 and win vista and it's allways the same. tried i thousend combinations of options, drivers, and even bios, without any possitive result. is it the hardware?
i'm running it on an acer aspire 4740 wich i bought 2 months ago. is there something wrong with the acer usb ports? is there a fix? is there any hope ? (don't tell me buy a mac couse ,well ,if i got an acer aspire you can guess i can't afford a mac) .
ask me any question you want, any help would be much apreciated.

Re: Launchpad and latency issues
the only thing i can think of is the irq is shared from that usb port.
Re: Launchpad and latency issues
first was the pci latency , now the irq?, i'm confused...
good news ,an usb to pci-express card will fix it!!
but...not everyone have pci xpress slots on their notebook, for example: Me...

Re: Launchpad and latency issues
irq orders the pci channels. im not familiar with win7, but on xp (so it cant be that diff) get into the control panel>system>hardware>devicemanager>view>resources by connection>irq tree
it will tell you how devices are split amongst pci channels. if you only have 2 ports and other internal cards or thing are shared with it, you're screwed.

Re: Launchpad and latency issues
found it ! well there was a couple of options and i've spent some time swapping them for trying stuff out, each time less excited but less dissapointed from things not working...
my mom would like this pc, and my brother too, so i'll give it to one of them (probably mom if she wants it since she would buy me something else, something i don't need to exchange or recycle anytime soon, something like a mac...)
i've been introduced to some macbooks with nice power and 13'', and they are ultra portable ... que será, será. i had to learn that(macs are better) the thought way ... ?
