How many controllers can control each parameter - midi map
How many controllers can control each parameter - midi map
I did a search and could not find anything.
What if I want to control the "view track" parameter with mrs than one controller, is that possible?
Can more than one knob or fader control the same exact parameter?

I should think if the controls come in on the same MIDI port and have the same CC and channel then as many as you like.

Nice, I'll have to see if I can edit my controller so that the exact same message us sent on two presets.
If anyone is curious, I'm trying to use a nanokontrol (guitar center price matched Amazon for $42, FYI) and on one scene I want to be able to select individual tracks, and on another scene I want to select tracks and switch between the effects on the track and the actual audio file for needle dropping with slider.

I don't think that will fix your problem. As "massenmedium" said, it also needs to be on the same MIDI port (not just channel and CC), and different devices come up as different ports in Live.giggedy wrote:Nice, I'll have to see if I can edit my controller so that the exact same message us sent on two presets.
Maybe best solution is to look for some translation/mapping utility outside Live like Bomes or MidiYoke.

Actually, it is the same device, nanokontrol, just two different "scenes" within the device. I've been looking on the korg forum to see what the exact difference is between the different scenes, but haven't found anything so far. Anyone know exactly how they work?
I looked inside the editor software and all the scenes send the same cc messages it seems. Wow, I really need to learn more about midi. No wonder I haven't even used Bomes yet even though I bought it months ago.

^ ok, on different scenes on the same device, yes, that should work as you're planning - at least it works like that in different presets (equivalent of scenes) on my UC-33e controller. There should be a utility available from Korg to program the NanoKontrol, right?
Re: How many controllers can control each parameter - midi map
yes, there's a utility, a midi editor, although it doesn't explain the differences between the scenes. They all seem the same, but are obviously different since I can program them differently in Ableton.
