How to set up a Sidechain compressor non Ableton

Post by maxx.copppens » Wed May 19, 2010 8:17 am

Hi There,

Can somebody please tell me how i can set up my waves sidechain compressor or the Fabfilter Pro-C.
with the ableton compressor you can easely assign your sidechain input but this isn't that simple with the other compressors is it?

Thanks!

In this case you have to send the output of your sidechain source to the compressor's channel.

Set up a new channel which will host the SC Comp. Duplicate the channel you want sending the signal to the sidechain > then route this signal to to the SC channel via Audio To. Below that routing option, there is another to route into the SC plug in. Then go to the channel you want to be effected by the compressor and route it to the channel containing the compressor.
