how to slice to midi from audio but keep the sound the same?

ive got a REALLY small audio file that is 1 beat long and ive got it to sound exactly how i want but when i try to slice to midi it comes out sounding different because of the effects you can put to it in the slice to midi options. how do i slice to midi but keep the sound how it is in audio?
any help will be appriciated! cheers!!

make a new track and set the track inputs to resample. then record the sound after all the effects. then put
THAT in a sampler

thanks for the tip but i dont understand what you mean. im fairly new to abelton! can you explain further?

1. Drag the audio you want sliced into a track, do your repitching/warping/whatever you want done to it.

2. Make a new audio track

3. In the inputs section of the new track, set the input to be whichever track has the edited audio you want to slice.

4. Arm the new track. Start the clip you want sliced (assuming it's a loop), then click the record button for a clip slot in the new track and record as much of the loop as you want. Hit the record button again to stop at the next quantize point.

5. Slice that new audio file to MIDI

yeah, because since you have all these effects going on AFTER (meaning later in the signal chain as opposed to coming straight from the actual sound file) the sound that you want in the sampler, then the effected sound is actually what you want to sample..

you'll need to re-record that sound (that's what re sampling is, I recommend the manual for further details)

or you can drag the sound file into a sampler and copy all the effects and put them after the sampler.
