Remote settings not saved correctly /first impression of 2.1

Post by zam » Thu Jan 02, 2003 1:09 pm

First I think, some new features are really important for live-performance. My favourites are TAP TEMPO and KLICK. But unfortunately, on my systems I am not able to save the midi-remote setting made on the Klick Button. Is that a bug? Also great: To have more than one midi-control source! (Footcontroller + Keyboard!)

Then: Performance on my slower mac is now 21% when it starts with a blank set. 1.5 had only 8%!!! Is there so much more needed now by the pure programm?

Also: When the program asks me if I wish to break referenz to some unused audiofiles and I deside yes - my mac hangs up.

My Systems:

Mac G3 B/W 350 MH – 544 MB Ram OS 9.2
Mac G3 Powerbook Pismo 400 MH – 400 MB RAM OS 9.2

That´s the first impression only. :?

Hi zam,

1. Metronome
After some minutes of irritation what you could mean with "Klick" :)... you're right. It's not possible to save midi remote mapping for the metronome and yes.. it's a bug. We'll solve that as soon as possible.

2. Performance
Just to clarify. If you run 1.5.2 and Live 2.0.1 on your 'slower' mac you'll get 8% (1.5.2) and 21% (2.0.1) with a blank set and using the same audio and midi preferences? Normally it should be equal or maybe a difference of up to 2% but not 13%.

3. Unused audio files
Some other users seem to have same problem so we'll solve that problem.

regards,
Alex

performance depends on audio settings

8) Hi Alex, thank you. I am glad to hear, that it is "only" a bug, since I trust, that you will probably fix this. And you are absolutely right: My Ableton 1.5 used the soundmanager driver and the 2.01 was set to asio with 8 ins and 8 outs. Now it's fine again - thank you!
