Just so you know the last few updates of Live 4 auto assign affinity to CPU 0 on start up so there is no need to bios disable hyperthreading when running Live anymore (just incase you didn't know) .klarky wrote:1) 31%
2) dell ispiron 9100
3) Windows XP pro (SP2)
4) Pentium 4 3 gig, ht (ht disabled in bios)
5) 786 mb ram
6) echo indigo dj
7) 5400 rpm (i think) HD 40 gb
My aren't the wings of butterflies beautiful and do they not make wonderful perturbations.....
1. 19% (peak 20%)
2. Laptop (ASUS V6800V / V6V)
3. Windows XP SP2
4. Intel Centrino Pentium M 1.86 GHz
5. 512MB DDR2 PC2700
6. Built-in audio (Realtek AC97)
7. 80GB 5400 rpm
Note: I have just got this laptop for a few days and it really rocks! It's ultra slim, just 2.5kg in weight, has a very clear 1400x1024 15" screen, is very quiet and has a slightly better (?!) Ableton Live performance than my desktop AMD 64 3500+ (2.2GHz)... Built quality is also exceptionally good. Got a very good deal for this laptop in The Netherlands (1739,- euro on 7 april 2005)

laptop - dell 6000
XP Pro (not optimized for audio)
2.0ghz Pentium M 760
1 gb DDR2 ram
stock soundcard with ASIO4All drivers
7200rpm hd
i'll post results with my Indigo DJ once i've optimized the system. can't say i'm upset with the results - i think it was 24-25% on my old system. also had a vpn client running at the same time.

It seems 2Ghz Centrino Pentium M systems have impressive performance.Rx wrote:cpu - 19%

Once I eventually retire my own Dell 5150 (Pentium 4 3.0Ghz 1Gb RAM) system I'll definitely be considering a Centrino based Pentium M system. This system scores around 26% to 27% with the bespoke performance test.
p.s. Hi there mister Fu !!!
