Well, you could pay them $300 so you could tinker endlessly in Max for Live and get nowhere instead of making music.
As for performing live with iPad, have you tried

How is the Bonjour protocol "freaky" and what do you base your assertion on that it "could break"? Or are you just talking out of your ass?

Playing with Cubase and Novation Automap controller apps on my iPhone, both of which suck pretty bad.
By the way, you can save the keyboard gangster routine for Facebook, fanboi. This is a forum for a professional software application.
