i can´t understand people calling for new pianos, delays and reverbs... you can buy all that stuff online and use it in seconds. :roll:

better do the things concerning the daw itself

- copy/paste in clip sample editor
- multiple track midi editor(!!!)
- dual screen support
- touch screen support
- 64bit
- better midi punch in options in arrange
- granular sampler

little things that would help:

- option to have the headphone always(!) selected in midi editor
- scroll inside a clip in session view for plug in in longer clips
- next-bar-rounded midiclips when pressing stop after recording
- creating clip length of more than one bar

thanks :-)

Have to agree with Saxer,

New instruments (and to a lesser degree effects) are bottom of my list of improvements that I'd like to see in Live 9*.

Improved CPU usage, 64 bit, the option to choose mono channels, automation in Session view, Bounce in Place and better midi functionality would do it for me.

( * I'm probably biased as I have enough third party stuff to keep me going for a lifetime but even then there's enough in Suite (which I also have and rarely use any of the extra instruments )

...

Easier zooming in and out in different views. (ability to set this as keyboard shortcuts or under the mouse wheel)
Easier browser navigation (maybe ability to have different filter options: stars, colors etc...)
Automation in clips (and the ability to record it in the clips) :roll:

... Oh yeah, and a better Reverb! 8)
Or add a nice convolution reverb.

-record clip automation in realtime!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-clip envelope randomizer(like you can do with zone envelopes in N.I.'s Kontakt).also,bezier curves for automation curves,and a snap to grid function for them as well.
-upgrade auto-filter with the ability to morph between filter types(like in sampler)
-being able to assign sampler's sample start parameter to midi controls.
-EUCON SUPPORT!

better MIDI editing generally, e.g.:
-view more than one clip at a time in the piano roll (with colors to distinguish events from different clips)
-an event view so that CC and other non-note data can be edited in detail, e.g., change CC number or move all events backwards in time a bit
-a "real" overdub mode in arrange mode that modifies existing clips in place rather than creating new clips

automation curves!

Guys leave some for the rest of us! :lol:

+1 to everything above
-1 to auto save though..

I'd like to see the 'red box' for the APC in arrangement... but it would be better if blue though.
Yes multiple clip editing, esp transpose option on all clips midi and audio.
Not having to click on a track title in session view to focus it. why not anywhere in the field?
Max 'runtime' bundled in with the Suite instruments. (yeah right!)

don't know if this was covered yet? I would like to be able to write/address more than one midi track/instrument in the same piano roll. live have overlapping midi tracks with separate colors for each track and a key cmd to switch back and forth.

edit: noticed saxter already covered this.

I would like to see no further amazing new development link-ups with external companies to provide weirdly unsatisfying add-on products.

so, no Stairmaster link-up, no Cheeseslicer5000 joint product, no DOWinvest-PRO-Portfoliomanager device.

just work on the application please.

this probably has already been posted a 100 times, but i didnt read the whole thread so i just write it again
(actually this may even be already possible, but i didnt found out yet how^)

if you use 2 different drumracks, one for kick other for snare.
(especially when youre kida newbish and not so good with tempo and speed settings).

its annojing having to switch between the 2 loops all the time.

so i i wanna be able to see various loops at one time to increase workflow (as it is apparently called :D).
i know that you already can do that in the arrange view, but not in the session view.
problem ofc is mabey space.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
and i dunno if im the only one, but i find the "library" or simply the endless sample searching is kinda frustrating.
everything is so small :D and the annoying small arrows everywhere^ i would prefer even a normal "explorer" window mode over the current one^^
improving stability of v.8 should of course be the first priority for the ableton team at this moment
having said that..a few tweaks here and there to improve the workflow i'd like to see in the future (mostly daw-like features for me..sorry )
-splitting audio clips at transients (one clip per transient)
-custom slicing presets (for example i'd like to assing the pitch on all samplers to a macro knob)
-offline plugin processing (apply the fx to the audio clip..possibly with an undo/redo history like in cubase)
-selecting multiple fades points at once
-bezier curves
-dual monitor support
and if it doesnt mess with the code too much..lfo/envelope follower for all plugins parameters (like in reaper)
That came with the slicing feature. Here's a pack with 25 extra slicing presets: http://www.thecovertoperators.org/Live- ... -of-winter
