Hi,
I'm new to Ableton and I'd like to know what is the best way to go about dropping in a drum loop sample over an original track so it stays on beat with the original (i.e. without changing the original track's tempo). I know it's probably quite simple, but I'm struggling a bit. Is it easier to do this in Clip view or Arrangement view?
Thanks to anyone willing to give some advice!
How do I drop a drum sample over an original song?

warp the track, find out the original tempo if you'd like or just use a tempo that's generally around that +/- 3-4 bpm and then use either a rex'd drum loop or a wav that's also in that same tempo range. You can use either session or arrangement but I prefer arrangement.

Thanks for the tip! For some reason when I copied the clips into arrangement view, they would grey out and not play back. But it seems to work now, and yes, I can see why Arrangement view is better....Thanks!

Aha yes, I see what you exactly what you mean, once you get a hold of some important key commands it really helps... And there is a way to program the order in which clips fire is there not? Some sort of auto-pilot?
