Quite different 'toys' I'd say, with different price points, so depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.
If I were you I'd get an iPad!

Re: Maschine or Korg Kaossilator Pro? which?
had the kaossilator pro, it's crap, the only piece I didn't buy used, big korg fan so ran out and got it for 450, took that piece of crap back to the crapbasket that sold it to me, not only is it not worth 450 if it was $200 I would not buy it, and if someone gave me one as a gift I'd sell it and get something else.
now I love the kp3, have one and will have another at some point but what a load of crap the k-pro is.
why ??????????
because its a glorified sound module with midi ports that doesn't even allow you to connect a keyboard via midi and play the sounds with out you having to jump through some cc programing hoolahoops
2. because it doesn't sync samples, why oh why would they even make a device like this, it's got one cool feature, the internal sounds can be recorded/sampled at the touch of the pad, as in it doesn't start recording until you touch the pad, this is very cool for getting loops right, but oh no the only feature worth squat on the thing isn't available via the line in recording, therefore if I attatch my turntables to the thing and expect to over dub a gang of fresh loops by cutting in drums, basslines or whatever sound fx it's a big no fucking go,
there is no way to adjust start and end points of loops, the feature on the kp3 is bad enough and barely useable but i still love the kp3, the damn k-pro doesn't even have the feature, now tell me how the heck do you have a looper and no ability to edit the loops.
thats just a few of the reasons, if I ever see you with a k-pro I will throw cheese and crackers at you

Get both.
Actually, maschine. If it was a kaoss pad then i'd say both. But I want a maschine.
