Midi Latency?

Post by Piplodocus » Thu Jun 03, 2010 1:16 pm

Hello! I got all my audio latency lovely, and I can direct monitor anyway. My trouble seems to be if I record any beats on the drum pads of my M-Audio controller keyboard. They always seem a bit off the beat. I assume it's to do with the MIDI latency which you adjust in the preferences? Should this be positive or negative for a delay? Any other tips on setting it up? The manual isn't particularly clear about this.

I'm also assuming this isn't just me playing terribly out of time too, as I have a pretty good sense of rhythm (also a bit out of practice though), but I'm not a keyboard player; it's more as a better alternative to a mouse! 8^)

Hey there.

Have you tried setting midilatency to audiobuffer in preferences, under CPU?

I am also having trouble with midi latency. The midi sync doesn'y seem to make a difference. I am trying to get a novation remote 25 compact to control ableton 8 in windows 7. total newbie.

Hi,

I'm also having trouble solving my MIDI latency issues. I have a roland, 88 weighted keys, and an m-audio midi-to-usb connection. How does one go about adjusting the latency time in preferences? I was thinking it was a velocity setting problem at first, within the synth settings for example. But I'm not so sure that's correct.

Further, if the velocity is set to 100, is that the most "sensitive" setting?

If anyone has tips, that would be great....
