I've been working studiously on warping an old Chicago track, which it's beats are all over the shop. This means that I've had to manually quantise nearly all the beats, so that it doesn't sound like a train wreck when mixing. I'm then cutting it up and re-editing it in arrangement view; consolidating/exporting/re-saving and bringing it back into as an MP3. However when I bring it back in, all the manual quantisation I've worked hard on is frustratingly gone.
I've tried copy/paste from session view into arrangement view, and also bounce to a different channel before re-editing. Both of which with and without global quantisation on.
Is there a way that all the manual warping work I do in the first instance can be retained, so that I don't have to laboriously work on warping my re-edited version of the track?
I would've thought that if the warped track is being bounced to another channel, it will be recording the audio in a now tightly quantised state. Therefore when I export, save down as an MP3 and bring it back into Live it should still be tightly quantised?
