macro curves

Post by The Phat Conductor » Thu Jun 18, 2009 4:04 am

minimum and maximum is cool for a lot of things, but i would LOVE to be able to do breakpoint style macro curves as you sweep along the cc. it really would open up a lot of control possibilities.

+ alot.

you should be able to drop a scalable lfo shape on any automation lane, snapping to grid/bar division & or loose. including a random/s&h shape that you drop in the bar and it is different each time you drop it.

that is a very good idea, too.!

I think what The Phat Conductor meant was something like this for macro buttons,
or any MIDIable Control really:

Sounds interesting.. I think the "note range" mapping business needs some overhaul too... like, different intervals between notes..

Say you set up 6 consecutive notes to control a beat repeat range.. set the min=max.. you get your 6 intervals, can't choose what they are, it's just split up evenly.. I'd like to be able to go 1/4, 1/8, 1/12, skip 1/16?, 1/24, ... etc etc.. maybe not such a great example

YeS! do you know how many times I've almost trashed a controller cause I'm sitting there with Ableton, and 2 MIDI editors open trying to get 2 controllers to do the same thing in Live!? It works after a ton of headaches.. but if I could just map 2 controllers freely, occasionally to the same knob/button/etc then performing live with a partner who might just have control over the same params on a different controller would go much smooooother.
