sorry I'm on my phone sitting out side work ( time to go in) anyway let me get this started so when I get home I might be a lil futher then right now,
my problem is all abelton products fail to launch on m computer.
after u click the icon the rectangle box in black and white comes up in the bottem left corner
anichuateing midi the tracks ( real fast) and when it gets to the anichuateing applacation it freezes up, let it sit for 20 min then it closes and u get a box saying "ableton has incountered a serous problem and will close after u click on"
sorry if this is ruff cut I'll fill in details later when I can see what I'm typeing
evga 680sli board, 2 gigs of OZC pc8500, 2.6g core two duo
evga gt9500 video card and a creative xfi extreem gamer
runing xp pro
I've had this problem several times resulting in a format to fix, I uninstall it and reinstall and I get the same thing. its like it's not uninstalling fully,
I think I covered most of the start I'll be back in a few hours maybe I can get some better ideas here,
lIke a said it's all ableton products live, lite 6,7,8 demo nothing will run anymore and Im tired of the format
I think it's a conflict of some sort, also I have a m audio key rig 49

If you can send us your "Log.txt" file, we can investigate in the cause.
The Log.txt file can be found in following location:
•Mac OS X: /User/Library/Preferences/Ableton
•Windows (Live 4 and later versions): C:/Documents and Settings/yourusername/Application Data/Ableton/Live/Preferences
•Windows Vista/Win7: c:/users/username/appdata/roaming/ableton/live/ preferences/
Note that on some Windows systems the application data folder is hidden by default. Here is what you have to do to make it visible:
Windows XP/2000
1.Launch Explorer.
2.Select Tools/Folder Options/View.
3.Check "Show hidden files and folders."

Ok.. sorry came home took at look at that file relized that it had logged every time i tried to open the program.... times date and so on...
I deleted the log file, (to restart it and get a clean log file to send to you) and its fixed... so
Ill get back to you after i figure out how to make it happen again... it might be something your interested in or maybe even beneficial..
see how awesome u fixed it with out any effort..

The problem came back.. and this time... Im unable to figure out what is wrong on my end
Ive cleared the log, restarted then only open'd ableton so i have a fresh clear log...
it gets hung up on
17265 ms. Database: Open file: 'C:\Documents and Settings\burning2nd\Application Data\Ableton\Live 8.0.4\Database\files.db'
last line
