Normalize function -- Next to the Reverse function Required
Normalize function -- Next to the Reverse function Required
Please add a simple normalize function next to the Reverse function, so I do not have to open an editor every time I need to normalize a file.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I think that clips get normalized when you consolidate them. You just have to set their volume to 0 after consolidating.

Even if it could analyze and tell you the peak you could boost the gain by that amount.

Just consolidate the file in session or arrange view, the key command is CMD+J (CTRL+J on Windows). Very simple.

- Unfortunately your suggestion does not seem to help. One is not able to consolidate a single audio clip in Session view, since there is nothing to consolidate and the function is dimmed, as can be seen in the Edit menu.Tarekith wrote:Just consolidate the file in session or arrange view, the key command is CMD+J (CTRL+J on Windows). My issue with the normalization-feature request refers to this post:

However, there is a workaround, requiring manual editing: Let's say you've recorded a audio clip on a channel and you need to normalize the audio - adjust the gain (found in "Sample"-box in the Clip view) manually. Then create a new audio channel. Drag the audio clip to the new channel. Freeze the clip, and then flatten it (right click the audio clip to see the functions). The audio clip has been rendered with the gain adjustment. This can be done with effects too, e.g. you could have a limiter on the channel and the audio clip would be rendered with the limiter-effect applied to it.

Ah bummer, I thought you could still normalize single clips in session, sorry.

You should not use Normalize more than a minimum of times because you degrade the quality of sound. As I see it it is a very superflous feature very redundant indeed.
