How do i pitch bend an entire midi track?

Post by Clint84 » Wed Jun 09, 2010 2:42 pm

I have searched and searched but can't figure this one out.

I know you can pitch bend in an envolope of a single clip or if your using sampler/simpler via transpose but how can i nudge the pitch of the whole single midi track up? (less than a semitone)

Please note I am using an external vst/synth so there is no sampler/simpler to use transpose etc.

THANKS!!!
Clint

Hello,
You could use the MIDI effect "Pitch", but that won't let you do any fine tuning, it goes by halfsteps.
If you edit a MIDI clip, there's a small E in the clip view. Click it and choose MIDI Ctrl -> Pitch Bend in the opening panel. You can then draw an envelope for Pitch Bend, which works with 16384 values. Then, if you can, set your VSTi pitch bend range to whatever you need to gain even better control.

Hope that helped?

just consolidate all the midi on the track and then adjust it in the envelope like MPGK said

thanks for the help so thats the only way? to consolidate the track and the use the envelope? I would have thought there would be another/easier way because I wanted it while i worked on the track.

Cheers guys appreciate it!

Just an idea, because I am not in front of live right now.

Is it possible to select several clips and edit the PB automation for all of them at the same time? I would be surprised, but give it a try...

Other idea : maybe there are PB Vsts you could use for the whole track ?

Other idea : put your instrument in another midi track, monitor to "in". make an empty dummy clip, draw the PB automation, and recieve notes from the other track ?
