APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Hi All,
I've spent nearly a year building the template i'm currently using, first with the excellent Bomes and now with Max4Live. The Bomes template i've made available to everyone who purchases bomes using the link on my blog the studiosessions.co.uk whilst the Max4live template shown in the video is available through a paypal payment of just £14.99....
The template comes with Isotonik 5.2, a full set up and instruction manual and lifetime upgrades......
Anyone who's used the Isotonik patch from max4live.com (currently sitting as the most downloaded by some way) will appreciate the new slim line approach allowing up to 6 tracks to be fully controlled (on a macbook pro 13") with up to 8 tracks depending on your processor speed....
New features include Sm4rt control and integration of my Gl1tch patch, all fully controllable from the APC40....
As many before me have put their stuff up for sale, i'm thinking the time has come to actually put a price on the time i've put into this thing. If you don't agree version 4 of the device will always be available on max4live.com for you to build your own template around. I'm thinking based on the feedback i've had many would prefer a simple out of the box solution without having to spend months on the learning curve required to get into max.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UNBe0hkPQy8
Feedback as ever is greatly appreciated, those on the mailing list will be getting a manual sent to them and i'm more than happy to send it out to anyone who asks for it prior to purchase (it's a pdf file so simply pm me your email address)
Those of you who have already donated will of course be getting a copy shortly as soon as i've gone through my receipts on paypal!!
Cheers

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Organised a dropbox for the template to reside in so that everyone gets notified of updates automatically, why didn't i find this way of doing things before....
Oh and theres a buy now button on the blog (Click the banner below) to make things even easier.....

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
For those interested i've isolated the Glitch scene so that users with slower processor speeds can choose to have this effect upon a track without having to accomodate the full patch, i'm using this on tracks that just have breakbeats.....
I'll continue to build isolated versions for people who want to sacrifice functionality for CPU gain....
These will of course all be available to members of the dropbox, entry for which is given upon purchase of the main template....
Cheers

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
I finally got round to trying having a go with it, I've tried the alp file from the dropbox on both my pc and my laptop and neither worked. Here's what happened...
Laptop (Core2 Duo 1.73ghz, 3gb ram, Win XP SP3, ableton 8.1.3, most recent M4L)
Installing the pack worked fine with no errors, when I then went to open the project after a short while the M4L splash screen popped up then after a long wait (maybe 5 mins) I got a fatal error box saying a serious error had occurred and that was it.
Desktop (Core2 Quad 2.5ghz, 3.24gb ram, Win XP SP3, ableton 8.1.3, most recent M4L)
Again the pack installed fine, I then went to open the project, this time there was a long wait again after the M4L splash screen (about 3 or 4 mins), after this time it appeared to have loaded but there was an error about it being unable to decode an MP3, only the first column had any clips on it (I don't know if thats right or not) then as soon as I tried to click anything I got one of those error boxes (the type which asks you if you want to report the fault to microsoft) and that was it, game over.
Any ideas? I know they're not the newest computers out there but I would expect it to work a bit better, maybe the file I've got from the dropbox is corrupt?

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
You could try downloading it again as certainly each of the first six tracks has clips in it....
The template is configured for use on a Mac that has 4gb of RAM if you are running less than that (Windows can only access 3gb) you'd have to slim down some of the set....
I'm working on slimmed down versions for people with lesser spec as we speak and making the standard configuration slicker from a cpu point of view.....
As promised all future updates are part of the deal, currently working on version 5.5 for which the slave device has reduced in size from 6.9GB to 5.5GB and i haven't finished yet.....
Cheers

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Just uploaded the Isotonik 5.5 template, now slimmer than ever and less CPU hungry, it's still a bit of a beast but i'm running it without glitches on 4 tracks including using the Sm4rt control....
For quick and easy set up, once you have loaded each device return to the master device and click the isotonik title and it will perform a master reset, resetting the individual tracks and then working through the individual parameters across all 8 tracks, once finished you're ready to go!!
Cheers

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Hey D,
Sorry to report that I have the same problem while using a similar desktop setup as Tomoram.
This still happens with the latest incarnation 5.5 (out of memory etc) Mmm, any ideas ?
Thanks,
Bert

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Sadly you'll need to remove one of the devices for the meantime.... Once i've got enough feedback i'll begin work on the reduced functionality versions, which functions could you do without??
I'll upload a three tracker this evening if you can't open the template....
EDIT: Uploading now....
Cheers

@ D: you work fast man !!!!!! Thanx, I'll try to open that!
Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Just doing a 4 tracker without the famously cpu hungry looper as well!
Cheers

ps only fair you get something that works for you eh?

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Man you are fast!!! Thanks for that, now at least I can open the sets.
For now I have to investigate how this thing is working. At first look, button presses you describe in the manual do not seem to work, but that might me just me. Let me test for a while, and I'll report back.
Cheers,
B

Re: APC40 Template - Shop Now Open!!
Sounds like a problem with initializing the device, load the master then the slaves then the master one time for luck and then use the APC40 to select the right track, you need to do this to tell the device which buttons should work.....
I've just run a 6 track version of the no looper variant so this is probably the way forwards, damn shame though as i love Abletons looper!!
Cheers
