Hi all
another noob question Im afraid :_)
If Im on the arrangement page and looking at a midi clip I have selected, how do I make the bar numbers at the top of the note editor window match up with the ACTUAL bar number of the clip.?
For example Im currently looking at a clip which starts at bar 33 and its shown as starting at bar 13 in the editor window?
They seem to bear no relation to the song position of the midi at all which is very confusing!
Im sure its simple , but I cant see how to make them correspond
any help appreciated!

Bar numbers in edit window
Re: Bar numbers in edit window
Let´s say you have a two bar MIDI Clip and place it on bar 13 in the arrangement.
The MIDI Clip will display the two bars content of your MIDI Clip but the arrangement shows you the bar
position where you placed the Clip. If you then move e.g. the start marker of the Clip, you should see the notes
moving accordingly in the arrangement itself.
If you really need to have the same timing displayed in the Clip as in the arranger timeline, simply select the
end of the Clip and draw a selction to arrangement position 1.1.1 and consolidate (edit menu).
best,
Christian

Thanks for the reply Christian
hmm I understand what you say, but I dont really want to consolidate the region necessarily , if Im say moving chorus parts around for example and want to easily see where they start and end .
Oh well.. just another ableton vs Protools difference I need to get used to I think LOLOL
Maybe a future enhancement would be a key to allow this to happen for those that need it..im SO used to looking at the midi editor following the arrangement position in protools
cheers!

Hi vsukpadman
I completely agree with you this it is very confusing for me too.
I would really like the option to have the arrangement position reflected in the clip view
Please Ableton
