At the very least... create your own files and prove your theory that way.
well, the point is most people are voting no difference when the the 'tools and Live renders are very different...

although without a proper double-blind test the results are pretty meaningless anyway.
exactly. how can you honestly take the Pepsi challenge when someone put ice in one of the sodas?

yes, well, even so...

logically either people voted no because they couldn't hear a difference, or they voted no because they didn't want to hear a difference (or they made a mistake with the files, like Angstrom).

edit: for the record... I didn't vote because I didn't listen... the quote above came on page 1... it was too late to bother.

the files sound different because the op fucked them up.
why are you not getting that?
everyone else here understands that the settings are way off in the two audio examples.
you hear a difference even on your laptop speakers because there is a difference.
the difference is that he fucked the files up and he admitted it.
do you understand yet?

your long winded post that read like they came out of an online german to english translator are useless because he fuh- ucked
the fuh - ucking files up!

And yet it seems that 18 people (so far, haha) still claimed to not hear any difference. I think that's what 3phase is referring to at this point. Or what fishmonkey said basically.

^ yes, but how is this Ableton's shortcoming?

he and disco boy are trying to rake the software through the coals based on the users ears and their own opinions of the software... that it doesn't sound like either of them should be bothering with based on their current beliefs/posts.

so he's illustrating 2 things, they can't hear and they can't read.

ok.

This comparison is so fucked up.

That together with the Thread title, OMG.

It really takes time and experience to make valid comparisons. Whether the thread starter is pretty unexperienced or he tries to bash Live intentional, don´t know ...

you defenetly cant blame ableton for atracting dullys... its the most easy to use daw on the market..even fruty loops is more demanding...

Its just a shocking thing for someone that never came along the magix music maker type of people in internet forums..
sofar the music related forums i visited was all pretty pro... and all the ableton users i know personally are pros..
of cause with different degrees of experteese and knowledge in sound engineering questions..
Not any producer is ..or has to be a well educated sound engineer..as long you know how to get to your sound you are fine..you dont need to be able to operate a ssl console or even put it in pieces and together again...

however.. all these people have a pretty good sense for listening to music and sounds and quite a degree of understanding whats going on inside a daw or synth plug or drummachine... you learn about such things while doing..usualy..
But with tomatos on the ears? thats a flaw hard to be overcome..

actually i start to understand this forum now a bit..and why people like all the ableton presets so much...

oh 19 now... we getting over 2/3rd now..

i dont know what makes me feel more pitty.. for people that cant hear such big differences.. or for people that just claim that there are none because they have read that there are none...

booth types really dont qualify for any serious discussion about anything music production related..

for obvious reasons..or?

but especially the i ve read bla bla type is not so rare.. i even came along that type in the professional audio world..

usually video cutters that was transfered to be the sound engineer in charge because the job was free and they tried to still have the guy around.. a quite typical tv production phenomen to transfer one of the video crew into a soundmen instead
hiering a real one...

I wonder at which point the irony will kick in along with the realization that you're sadder than you try to make this place be.
Even this is repeating itself. "Oh, you guys are all dumb? Didn't realize that. Let me educate you! Back in the olden days...".
Maybe if those "pro's" at the other forums took you seriously, you wouldn't have to hang out with us dumb fucks.

What vote? Oh right.. Its a poll without any meaning. I forgot about that just like the thread creator did. A detailed bug report is too much work, but discussing the results of a poll that doesn't tell you anything is a worthy discussion to have.

And keep believing people are actually having trouble with M4L. The fact Live holds up even in very complicated setups for me, will only serve for something you can spin into something negative in what will no doubt be another reply that totally has nothing to do with what I said.

And as for grumpy... I get up a lot earlier lately. Don't mess with me before I had my chocolate milk!
