Shrapnel - heavy dupstep

Post by DaddyHam » Sun Jun 13, 2010 3:49 am

Ok so started out with intentions of dubstep, messed around with a massive wobble patch and ended up with something a bit heavier. EIC strings starts the build around 2 minutes. You can probably guess what drums I've been chopping for this track. Hope you like it.

nah, just all audio cut up from the kj sawka live pack. I love those drums, probably will be going to them for some time to come.

ya man good call. Do you know if there is a drum intro on the original recording?

oh yeah totally. the into on the record is so beefy and awesome. helmet is great if you want to study hard-hitting polyrhythmic grooves, timing, and use of space for dubstep inspiration. certainly I'm not alone in thinking that...!

Another nice mix Daddy. Good separation of the kick and heavy bass freq which is very diff to do. Great simple effects and transitions. Lot of space if you sell it to somebody and they add vocals. Make a good hiphop track I think. Thanks again.

Sweet thanks I'll definitely grab that album and dissect some of those grooves.

Thanks again for the feedback tiennon, maybe at some point I'll pm you about how you would go about selling tracks.
