Battery 3.1

Post by Jersey Garcia » Wed Jun 16, 2010 8:23 pm

got this email in the mail... interested about the MPC60 and SP1200 stuff:
Dear BATTERY 3 user,

The upcoming free BATTERY 3.1 update will bring a lot of enhancements to the leading software sampler. New features include:

* 2 vintage sampling modes emulating the sound of the legendary MPC60* and SP-1200*
* Mac OS X®: 64bit support for Audio Unit and standalone version
* Right-click MIDI learn for all automatable buttons and sliders
* Multiprocessor support to deliver even better performance on modern Multiprocessor systems
* Improved Samples Missing dialog: New "Forward" option to prevent multiple Samples Missing dialogs when e.g. moving a host project to a different folder

To ensure the best possible quality for this version, the BATTERY team has decided to set up a public beta test. This means that as a registered BATTERY 3 owner, you now have the opportunity to download a fully functional 3.1 beta version from the NI website and test out all the new capabilities right away.

Please note that even though the public beta version has already undergone extensive internal testing, it is still a pre-release version and should be used with caution in performance-critical environments.

You can sign up for the public beta here:

-> Get Public Beta

Important notes:

* Mac OSX: BATTERY 3.1 requires an Intel® Mac and Mac OS X 10.5 (or later).
* The BATTERY 3.1 public beta version requires (and overwrites) a previous BATTERY 3.0.x installation on the same computer.
* Files (e.g. drum kits) and host projects saved with BATTERY 3.1 cannot be reloaded with an earlier version of the software.
* If you want to revert to BATTERY 3.0.x at any time, you will have to uninstall the 3.1 version, run the master installer from the original DVD set again, then install the latest official update.
* There is no tech support given for the public beta version. If you should encounter any technical issues with this version, please submit your findings through the "Public beta bug tracker" on the NI website for the developers to look into. You will automatically receive an email with the bug tracker login details after signing up for the beta test.

On behalf of the BATTERY team, a big "Thank You" in advance to everyone who joins this beta test to ensure that BATTERY 3.1 will be the most powerful and robust version ever.

Best regards,

Your Native Instruments Team
