New Drum Pad controller from M-Audio
according to m-audio.de trigger finger will be supplied to their dealers within 2 weeks.
a guy on the HC forum apparently alreadys saw one in a West Hollywood music store. he said "the pads didn't feel half bad" and that they were "maybe a bit thinner than on his MPD". he did only spend a few seconds with it though.

So, has anyone got it yet?
The Dutch distributor told me a week ago, that he could more or less guaranty it would be in Dutch stores in 4 weeks. WTF is taking so long?
Any reviews online yet?

just played with one of these the other day when the M-Audio rep brought one around. I like it. the pads don't feel as nice as the mpc1000, but they feel at least as good as the mpd-16. and with the knobs and faders added it's a nice touch.
the latency seems decent and the sensitivity felt pretty good too (i'd imagine it's adjustable too though i didn't have a chance to mess around with the librarian)
i think for the price it can't be beat. i'm picking one up next week.

can't believe 'M-Audio' of all people, supposedly making this for using with Live, didn't even put a damn crossfader on the damn thing! they could of at least put a cheap one on there, to me the thing looks like it's useless. I mean the knobs and faders it has are ok but a crossfader with diff curvs would of been kick assss
for the love of Live
Please don`t take it personally but it is obvious you have very little idea about pads. MPD 16 uses the top of the line pads as MPC 4000 while the 1000 has budget version with less sensors. No speculation here I know it directly from Akai, was the reason too while 1000 does not interest me anymore ( I thought why not to get lot more for little more money, thinking of getting 1k instead of MPD but after learning what is under the rubber, changed my mind).bencodec wrote:just played with one of these the other day when the M-Audio rep brought one around. how come most people think the MPD pads are not as nice as MPC pads then? i'm not being a smartass, just wondering. I've talked to a couple of (former) MPC2000 ovners who felt this way too.rikhyray wrote: Please don`t take it personally but it is obvious you have very little idea about pads. is it useless or is it ok? Is anything without a crossfader with diff curves useless?::mic-minimal:: wrote:can't believe 'M-Audio' of all people, supposedly making this for using with Live, didn't even put a damn crossfader on the damn thing! they could of at least put a cheap one on there, to me the thing looks like it's useless. mbp 2.66, osx 10.6.8, 8GB ram.
hey, no offense taken, i'm referring to the feel of the pads which can be subjective. personally i like the softness that i've felt on MPC 1000 and 2000 pads they seem to feel a bit like more like the roland handsonic. the pads on the MPD are a bit stiffer and i don't prefer it.rikhyray wrote: Please don`t take it personally but it is obvious you have very little idea about pads. the m-audio box has pads that feel like the pads on the MPD more so then the MPC but they didn't feel quite as stiff, so a bit of a compromise for me.
i'm not referring to the sensors just the tactile quality of the pads.
most MPC owners i know say that the MPC pads get broken in and change their feel over time, perhaps after a couple months the MPD wouldn't feel quite so stiff.
I never asked them about 2000 , it does not interest me. Since they are more expensive ( more sensors) they come only in 4000 and MPD while 2000 and 1000 have the budget pads, if they are same or not, again I never asked , buying stuff for my professional use price is secondary factor I save my money on everything else but never music related items, I rather buy Festina then Rolex, dont care too much about cars or fashion but when it is about music - no for me. I use Live not because it is cheaper then Cubase or Logic but because it works better for me, honestly I think it is simply better.
