I mean, I actually WANT there to be competition. Because the ads that HP and others put out are always so fun in their earnestness. They make me giggle.

droid can run flash. html5 is probably a good thing to support, but to not support flash also is kind of douchey.

I've been seeing a lot more user reviews complaining of iPad apps crashing more so than I did with iPhone apps.

Big surprise.. Half of the ipad developers haven't even been able to get one yet.
Luckily you get the crash reports during a sync to pass on to the developer.
TouchOSC is a great app, but its stability and lacking features leaves a lot to be desired.

Listen, I'm the last person to talk to about lack of Flash support on Apple mobile gear. Stills hacks me off in a major way, but up until your post Ive been happily delusional that it doesn't matter.

Oh, and where is HTML5 at this point? About the same place it was 6 months ago: nowhere. It's a viable video container, but that's about it. When you go online to learn HTML5 you basically get " how to incorporate CSS" and "what your head section code should look like".

What stability issues are you finding with TouchOSC? There's stability issues I've found with templates that people create...

And yes, there's been a mad rush to get iPad apps out the door, and clearly even big name companies aren't doing even basic beta tests. Case in point? BBC news app; with it's blank pages in the story section. lol.

Are you saying there's flawed logic in allowing people to develop software for something that hadn't been released yet and then difficult to get your hands on once it is?

Yeah, I'm going to wait a bit on TouchOSC while things get a little more ironed out. As a Live user I've had enough of this type thing.

The outrage over lack of support of flash and excitement over the future of HTML5 lasted about 10 minutes, possibly 15 minutes on this forum, but what else is new?

It definitely helps to have one to fix bugs in your software.

The app crashing. Like during navigating in its settings page.
I'm using my own templates, so its only my own bugs and touchOSC that need a bit of polish.

ive rarely had it crash until the latest release, now it crashes almost every template change. Im sure h3xl3r is working on it along with all the other updates

It definitely helps to have one to fix bugs in your software.

I was being mostly sarcastic. I'll give a 6 month grace period on bugs given my above statements…but after that people will die. Just seems like some developers are more focused on fancy graphics than solid performance. Also we are talking about an extremely closed format, not a lot of variables on the user end to take into consideration.

TouchOSC is a different monster because it's very much working outside the box.

MotionX GPS Drive HD
wow. Another reason why the iPad was invented. This GPS app is pretty stellar for less than $5. Other GPS apps of 'superior' quality go for 4x that price.

One thing, though, is that my measley $15 data plan ain't gonna cut it - because the app doesn't store any maps on your iPad. Went through about 10MB of my plan using the GPS for 45min.

Gonna be great to get this app for the new iPhone. Yummy. Bit of a GPS nut here, and I cannot wait to dump my regular handheld GPS unit. Man those things all suck ASS. None of them have graphics that are worth a shit. They all look like something an Amiga might have rendered out.

And the Garmins always give you the most assine directions. I can plot a course from one building next to the expressway to another building next to the same expressway - only 20 miles down. It'll then calculate a route on every motherfucking back road and alley in a 5 county radius. Everything BUT THE MOTHERFUCKING HIGHWAY THAT I'M RIGHT FUCKING NEXT TO. ARRRGHGHHGHHHGHGHHGHGHHH! lol.

okay okay... now maybe I don't understand this given the extremely low number of products I own made by Apple INC. (I think I'm down to 2 and Quick Time is one of em) but how is it a "great app" if its unstable AND lacking features?

I mean I get it with Live 8, theres tons of features and its been unstable, but this seems like a double decker whammy of suck and fail...
