APC40 Stopped Working Mid-performance

Post by omniphonix » Wed Jun 16, 2010 7:05 pm

Last night I was performing with my APC40 and it just stopped controlling Live at the end of my second mix. I have never had this issue before. I'm wondering if it might have something to do with my new laptop. I have a Dell Studio 1747 Touch with Windows 7 64-bit. I reinstalled the OS when I got it to make sure it was a clean install and updated all the drivers and Windows updates. I worked fine for hours when I was playing with it at home. Is it possible the APC is sensitive to power conditions and the venue did not have clean power? Is there any way to get it to reinitialize without stopping playback? Here are the complete specs on my laptop:

Core i7-820QM
4GB DDR3 1333MHz
ATI Mob Radeon 4650HD 1GB
2x 500GB HDD
Intel Advanced-N 6200 WiFi (disabled during set)
17.3" Multi-touch Display
Win7 Ultimate 64-bit
Ableton Live 8.1.3

M-Audio Fast Track Ultra
Akai APC40

Don't think you can reinitialize the APC40 without restarting Live, at least on Windows.

Nevermind. Turns out my USB cable was damaged and it kept cutting in and out.
