MIDI Note Editor/Step Sequencer help!

How do I get a drum beat that I made in the Step Sequencer to play in the track display? The light blue/green color represents the drum pattern but it wont play! When I save it and open it again, it just skips the drums and goes on playing everything else. How would you get a beat from the step sequencer and insert it into the track display so that it would play like a regular audio file? I know I am doing something wrong! I am new to this software. Please, no rude comments, I know this is kind of a dumb question. Thanks for all who help!

Press that red button up the top. When that red button is lit up it means your in "Live mode" meaning anything you have touched in session view won't play on that channel in arrangement view until you tell live that you don't want it to run in live mode by pressing that red button up on your transport.
