Trouble with M-Audio Keystudio 25 and Ableton Suite 8

Hi guys... I'm on a MacBook Pro ...

I'm trying to figure out how to assign the sliders and buttons on my M-Audio KeyStudio 25 midi-keyboard to Ableton ... I've tried and tried to assign using either the MIDI map or KeyStudio's highly complicated programming but absolutely nothing is working (except the pitch bend and octave, and the keys play notes - I just can't assign MIDI to any of the add'tl knobs or buttons.) Can some kindly soul give me a step-by-step primer on what I should do? I've been searching for helpful advice (the M-Audio manual didn't help here) but can't find anything helpful. Thank you for your time...

It doesn't seem to recognize it when I turn the knobs. I know ableton is recognizing my keyboard, b/c I can play notes, etc. Any suggestions?
