just one more about the center channel..

i also was wondering about what this thing should be good for,., and was strictly thinking in the quadro domain.. but than in the late 90´s all studios we build was surround setups..thx certified surround setups.. and we was the guys that installed and tested the systems.. you can do that with 1k test tones.. but.. its 2 o clock in the morning.. and you know that you will work thru to noon to deliver the studio in time..

what shall i say.. we decided to do some music to test all the routings instead listening for 14 hours to test-tones..

i think thats no shame.. with good ears you hear problems also on the kick drum..maybe even more so..

the conclusion.. the center channel is the most important of them all..

for electronic music thats the new realm..

forget about the back chanels..they are just gimmicks.. the center is the one..the middle... the true image...

the one that allows you to look behind the sound..

if you move your head left.. the sound is not moving with you to the left.. it stays in the center..

that is probably not important for your projekt wright now... keep it simple..

but in general..

for the electronic musican the center is the new land.. the center stage.. and the one that makes things tasty and gives them direction in the surround field..

i actually would preffer 3.1 over 5.1 for musical purposes..
