Recommend a mastering studio (Los Angeles, NYC or MTL)
Hi guys,
anyones got a mastering studio/engineer to recommend for a "contemporary sounding" indie/electro/pop/rock/blabla project? Any links, online directory?
Thanx a lot!))
Ben
PS: would be great if the studio was located in LA (where i am right now) or NYC or Montreal...

Budget ??
You have serious grammy winning mastering facilities such as Bernie Grundman's which will set you back a pretty penny or anything down to the real budget end.

Re: Recommend a mastering studio
Yes, good suggestions, but he's preferably asking for a mastering studio in Los Angeles where he is based right now.
And I recommend anyone who has a chance to sit in on a mastering session in a mastering studio do so - you will learn a heck of a lot of things that an online mastering session won't teach you.
There are many options in LA, as you can see from the Google map link I posted.

hey, thanx for the suggestions)
yep, LA would be my preferred choice since im here at the moment, but if i find a great mastering engineer in nyc or montreal, that might do too coz ill be there at some point later... so far, minus few exceptions, im a bit wary of the LA mastering studios ive seen. most of em look like they mixed micheal bolton and poison - theyd probably think my sound is very wrong
so far, from what i noticed new york is problably the best place to find a pro engineer who mastered more indie, "modern" pop, electronic stuff, right? maybe i must search deeper in order to find the right ppl in LA... what do you guys think?

Yes. They have electronica specialists as well as the usual typical rock/pop.
