First dubstep track! Whomp!

great one! i totally agree with housemunky it needs more bass. something similar to what comes up at min 1.03.
but imo you could leave the whole thing as it is and build up with a more aggressive base and bass. could be an epic 6 min killer!
looking forward to hearing the finished track!

I think some more melody would help you out at this point, what you have right now offers some good build and intensity and now if it broke into a more "chorus type" section I think it would definitely move you towards completion. Doesnt have to be too melodic, nor did I mean "chorus" like a pop-music type deal, just a definitive melody, be it simple/dirty/ or otherwise. Keep it up!

I noticed your bassline is mainly high and mid range sound not really effecting my subwoofer. What are you using for your bass ableton instrument or vst? I might be able to tell you more specifically if i knew. Anyways a good idea is to make sure your oscillators are either at 0 or -1 or -2 for a nice bass sound. Secondly make sure the filter cutoff is low as well. can be anywhere from like 40 to 400 this isn't a strict rule. Check out this video its the first video i ever watched on how to create a dubstep bassline. It is a nice one because it only requires simpler which comes with most basic version of live. Anyways once you get the hang of using this you can move on to VST's or other ableton instruments with a basic set of knowledge.

Thanks Jharling I'll look into it. I'm actually using a DCAM Synth Squad vst called Strobe for the bassline. I'll try to work with it
