Re: The World Cup Thread
Worst of all is that the mistakes crapped on the teams tactics. England had to go all forward looking for the 2-2 and that's where the last 2 goals came. Mexico changed their formation to 4-4-2 instead of their usual 4-3-3 to try to hold back Messi, keep the game 0-0 and look for a goal. The offside goal messed up the team and that's when the 2nd goal came. Now they're back to 4-3-3.

Indeed. I like that they're showing spirit. That was a beautiful goal.

Tevez what a goal.
Messi just cant get one in the net
it will come, he has been involved in at least one goal in all games.

What a great game yesterday... Shame about that goal missed by the ref, even Loew said it should've been given. Reading up the reports after the match, lots of articles quote Loew's strategy for the game...

He did his homework and came prepared for England... I just wonder what Capello's equivalent plan was...? Didn't seem to be any...Loew said that was all part of the plan. "We knew that the midfield is (Steven) Gerrard and (Frank) Lampard, who always support the forwards, and that their midfield would be open.
"So our objective was to set Terry up with Klose to force him to come out of the defence. We knew that the fullbacks would be very much to the sides and create spaces between the England defenders that would help us penetrate their defence.
"We wanted to do this and we were successful there," he explained.

Well, something good came out of the refereeing mess on Sunday...
